The Park Hyatt Hanazono
The Park Hyatt Hanazono

Overview

Niseko is the most famous skiing destination in Japan, with huge amounts of powder snow drawing visitors from all over the world. The Niseko Ski Resort refers to 4 ski resorts that are connected by the same mountain range:

Grand Hirafu - The largest of the 4 resorts, this is where you'll find the majority of the restaurants, shops, and nightlife.

Niseko Village - A quieter version of Hirafu, the best area for beginners and anyone learning to ski.

Hanazono - Further from the crowds with smaller lines for the chairlifts.

Annupuri - Similar to Niseko Village with stronger Japanese vibe.

Choosing the right hotel can be tough with all the different options and confusing location info, so we've selected this list based on customer reviews and our expert knowledge of the area, having spent two ski seasons living and working in Niseko.

All of the options on this list must adhere to our strict criteria:

- An average review score above 9/10

- A minimum of 25 reviews

- The location must be convenient for skiing, nearly all of these hotels provide ski-in/ski-out accommodation or are very close to the chairlifts.

Our listing for each place has a convenient summary including the:

"Stunning view from the Panorama room which was so spacious for 3 adults. Loved the huge shower with floor heating. Location was perfect for us as we preferred Annupuri & Niseko Village much more than Hirafu- a lot less crowded and more peaceful. Very convenient hotel shuttle to the Hirafu slopes and restaurants. The ski valet service was very efficient for storing ski gear. Amazing buffet breakfast. Shabu-shabu at Sisam was pricey but so delicious, and the boys loved it. 5-minute walking distance to Niseko Town allowed for more choice of meals, would recommend the Gogyo & Hokkaien Yakiniku restaurants."
